The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Pfc. Nathan P. Brown, 21, of South Glens Falls, N.Y., died April 11 in Samarra, Iraq, when his patrol was ambushed. Brown was assigned to the Army National Guard,s 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry, 1st Armored Division, Glens Falls, N.Y.

The incident is under investigation.
