The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Dennis B. Morgan, 22, of Valentine, Neb., died April 17 in Iskandariyah, Iraq, when his armored personnel carrier hit an improvised explosive device. Morgan was assigned to the Army National Guard's 153rd Engineer Battalion, Winer, S.D.

The incident is under investigation.
